Happy birthday, Leni. I can't believe you're 19. Four years ago I had no idea what was about to happen. I wish I could tell that version of me what was coming. Every day with you has been the best of my life and that's not me being dramatic. There's just something about you. There are days I sit and think about how lucky I am to know you, let alone love you, and honestly I still don't get how I got this lucky.
Long distance is supposed to be the hard part. People warn you about it. But somehow it's been okay, because you make it okay. A quick phone call from you can make my whole day. A hi, a text, it doesn't matter what it is, it's the best part of every day. When I'm not with you it feels like a piece of me is missing, even when we're talking. You're always in my head anyway.
You light up every room you walk into. Your laugh does something to people, I've watched it happen, you just make the whole place better the second you smile. You bring more happiness to people than you'll ever know. To me especially. I can't wait for June. I can't wait to peak with you again. I can't wait to fall asleep next to you, wake up next to you, do nothing with you.
